Fall and wintertime the fishing gets unbelievable just a few miles off our coast! Just a short ride from the shoreline, the waters off St. Pete come alive with action-packed opportunities for both seasoned anglers and first-timers looking for an unforgettable adventure.
During this time of year many of our offshore fish move into shallower warmer water. During all C'est La Vie Fishing Charters we will be within state waters (9 miles). This still gives us plenty of opportunity to catch a wide variety of fish!
What will we be targeting?
Spanish & King Mackerel
Fast, aggressive, and exciting on light tackle—perfect for anglers who love the thrill of a drag-screaming run.
Snapper (Mangrove, Lane, Key West)
Delicious and abundant, snapper make for excellent family-friendly fishing.
Grouper
Yes, you can catch grouper nearshore! Red, gag, and gag grouper are the most common we catch nearshore
Sharks
Blacktips and spinners provide heart-pounding action, especially in warmer months.
Cobia & Tripletail (Seasonal)
When conditions are right, nearshore waters surprise with pelagic visitors.
Hogfish
One of the most priced eating fish out there! They make phenomenal table fair and fight
great as well
What will we use for bait?
We will use a wide variety of bait depending on what we are targeting. We use shrimp the most out though! Everything eats them from big grouper to snapper to hogfish! For the King mackerel, Spanish mackerel and cobia we use what we call Pilchards or "Scaled Sardines"!
